How to Export CSV from Tapfiliate

Tapfiliate exposes CSV downloads for the three core data sets every program runs on: affiliates, conversions, and commissions. People usually pull these for one of four reasons — switching platforms, accounting reconciliation, backing up before a big change, or building reporting Tapfiliate's UI doesn't surface.

This guide covers all three exports, what columns each gives you, and the cleanup work you'll typically do before importing the data anywhere else.

Where to find each export

Tapfiliate keeps the exports in three separate places, one per data type:

• Affiliates export — Affiliates page, top-right action menu (often an “Export” button or a download icon). One row per affiliate with contact info, tracking code, commission tier, and lifetime totals.
• Conversions export — Conversions page, same action-menu pattern. One row per conversion with order/transaction ID, attributed affiliate, amount, currency, status, and date.
• Commissions export — Commissions page. One row per commission entry. For recurring SaaS programs there's typically one commission per renewal, so this can be much larger than the conversions export.

Each export is a separate request. If the UI labels have shifted since this guide was written (Tapfiliate iterates on their dashboard regularly), look for a download or export icon on each of those three pages.

Affiliates export: columns you'll get

The Tapfiliate affiliates CSV typically includes:

• First name / Last name / Email — standard identity columns.
• Affiliate ID — their unique internal Tapfiliate ID.
• Referral code — what they put in ?ref= links.
• Status — Active, Inactive, Disabled.
• Program / Group — if you run multiple programs or tiered groups.
• Commission rate / type — percentage or fixed, plus the rate value.
• Payment method / PayPal email — payout details.
• Created at — signup timestamp.
• Lifetime stats — clicks, conversions, paid commissions to date (snapshot at export time).

Common gotchas

• Commission rate format is inconsistent across rows. Tapfiliate stores percentages and fixed amounts in the same column. When you parse the CSV, branch on the “type” column (or a sibling indicator) before assuming the rate is a percentage.
• Multiple programs in one export. If you've enabled more than one program / source on your Tapfiliate account, the affiliate may appear once per program with different commission settings. De-dupe on email if you want one row per person.
• Excel mangles long IDs. Tapfiliate affiliate IDs are sometimes long numeric strings. Excel converts these to scientific notation on open + save. Use a text editor or import directly into the target platform — never round-trip through Excel.
• Lifetime stats are point-in-time. The numbers reflect the moment of export. Don't use the export for ongoing reporting — pull a fresh one each time.

Conversions export

The conversions export has one row per recorded conversion. Key columns:

• Conversion ID / External ID — Tapfiliate's internal ID + your system's order/transaction reference.
• Affiliate reference / code — who got attributed.
• Amount / Currency — the sale value.
• Commission amount — what the affiliate earned.
• Status — Approved, Pending, Disapproved, Refunded.
• Created at / Conversion date — timestamp.

For migration purposes, the conversions export is typically reference-only — you don't replay historical conversions into a new platform because those commissions have already been (or are being) paid. Keep the file as an audit trail.

Commissions export

Less commonly exported but useful for accounting. One row per commission entry, including pending vs. paid status, payout batch reference, and amount in commission currency. If you run a recurring SaaS program through Tapfiliate, this is where you see every renewal's commission line item.

What to do with the export

• Migrate to another platform. Most modern affiliate platforms accept Tapfiliate's CSV shape directly or with light column-mapping. See our Tapfiliate → AffRef migration guide.
• External BI / reporting. Push the conversions export into Looker, Mode, or a spreadsheet to slice the data Tapfiliate's UI doesn't.
• Pre-change backup. Always take an export before bulk-editing affiliates, commission rules, or program structure.
• Custom payout math. If you give tiered bonuses or one-off adjustments Tapfiliate can't natively model, do the math in a spreadsheet on top of the conversions export.

FAQs

Can I filter the export by date range?

For conversions and commissions, yes — apply the date filter on the page before exporting. For affiliates, the export is typically all-time. If you only want affiliates created within a window, you'll filter in your spreadsheet after the export.

Does the export include affiliate password hashes?

No. Affiliates re-set their password when they sign in to the new platform — or, in some migration flows, the new platform sends them a one-time reset link tied to the imported email.

What if Tapfiliate's UI has changed and I can't find the export?

Look for a download icon (usually a down-arrow into a tray) or an “Export” option in a kebab/three-dot menu at the top-right of the affiliates, conversions, or commissions list. If it's truly gone, the Tapfiliate API can produce the same data and a developer can dump it to CSV.

Is there a way to export everything at once?

Not via the UI. The API is the only path to a single-shot full dump — you'd query affiliates, conversions, and commissions in three separate calls and merge them yourself.
