How to Export CSV from Rewardful

Rewardful surfaces CSV downloads for affiliates, referrals (customers who signed up via an affiliate), and commissions (the actual commission line items, including every recurring renewal). Recurring SaaS programs make the commissions export much larger than the referrals one — this guide flags the gotchas.

Where to find each export

• Affiliates export — Affiliates page in the Rewardful dashboard. Look for an “Export” or download button at the top-right of the list. Outputs one row per affiliate with referral link, contact info, commission rate, and lifetime stats.
• Referrals export — Referrals page. One row per customer who signed up via an affiliate link. For SaaS programs, this maps to one Stripe customer per row.
• Commissions export — Commissions page. One row per commission line item. For recurring programs, every renewal that paid an affiliate produces a separate row here.

If the Rewardful UI labels have shifted since this guide was written, look for a download icon or three-dot menu in the top-right of each list page.

Affiliates export: columns you'll get

• First name / Last name / Email — identity.
• Referral token / Link — the affiliate's ?via= value (Rewardful's URL parameter).
• Coupon code — the Stripe coupon assigned to this affiliate, if you've enabled coupon-code attribution.
• Campaign — which Rewardful campaign they belong to.
• State — Active / Disabled.
• Commission rate — their commission % (campaign default unless overridden).
• PayPal email — payout target.
• Created at — signup timestamp.
• Lifetime stats — visits, leads, conversions, MRR, commission earned. Snapshot at export time.

Common gotchas

• Campaign-scoped commission rates. Rewardful's commission rate lives at the campaign level, not the affiliate level (unless explicitly overridden). The export shows the effective rate per affiliate but you'll need to note the underlying campaign settings to fully replicate behavior elsewhere.
• Recurring commission window. Rewardful campaigns define how long an affiliate earns on a referred customer (e.g. 12 months, lifetime). This setting isn't per-affiliate in the export — it's a campaign setting. Capture it from the Rewardful campaign settings page before exporting.
• Excel ID corruption. Standard CSV warning — don't round-trip through Excel.

Referrals export

One row per customer who signed up via an affiliate. Key columns:

• Customer email / Stripe customer ID — identifies the referred customer.
• Affiliate email / referral token — who referred them.
• Created at / First conversion at — sign-up date and first-payment date.
• MRR — current monthly recurring revenue from this customer.
• Total revenue — total Stripe charges from this customer.
• Total commissions — lifetime commissions earned by the affiliate from this referral.
• State — Lead / Conversion / Cancelled.

Commissions export

Most important for accounting. One row per commission line item. Includes:

• Commission ID — Rewardful's internal ID.
• Affiliate email / token — who earned it.
• Referral — which referred customer it came from.
• Stripe charge ID — the underlying payment.
• Amount / Currency — commission amount.
• State — Due / Paid / Voided.
• Created at / Due at / Paid at — timestamps.

For a recurring program, every monthly renewal that pays a commission shows up as its own row here. A single customer on a 12-month commission window will produce 12 rows over time.

What to do with the export

• Migrate to another platform. Most SaaS-affiliate platforms accept Rewardful's CSV shape with light mapping. The big migration gotcha is the recurring-commission window state — the new platform needs to know “this customer has X months left in their commission window” or it'll either over-pay or under-pay. • External BI / reporting. Push the commissions export into Looker or Mode for cohort analysis (e.g. affiliate-attributed LTV by signup month).
• Accounting reconciliation. The commissions export with state filter set to Paid is what your accountant wants for end-of-quarter reconciliation against your bank statements.
• Custom payout calculations. If you give tiered bonuses Rewardful can't natively model (e.g. extra 5% for affiliates above $1k MRR referred), do the math against the affiliates + referrals exports.

FAQs

Can I export only paid commissions?

Yes — filter the Commissions page by state = Paid before exporting. Same for Due or Voided.

Does the export include Stripe customer IDs?

Yes, in the referrals and commissions exports. This is essential if you want to migrate the recurring-commission state to a new platform — the new platform needs to know “customer cus_XXX is on an affiliate clock that started Y date.”

What about Rewardful's 9% commission fee on the Starter plan?

Rewardful's Starter plan takes 9% of every commission you pay out as a platform fee. This is calculated server-side and isn't an explicit column in the export — the “amount” you see is what the affiliate is owed before Rewardful's cut. If you're migrating to a flat-fee platform, the savings show up immediately on commissions paid going forward.

How do I migrate the recurring-commission state?

Two steps: (1) export affiliates + referrals to know who's still on the clock, and (2) tell the new platform that for each affiliate→customer pair, X months have already been paid against a Y-month window.
